NEWS: Kunsthalle Darmstadt

Daniel Meadows interview now on YouTube.

On Friday 8 April 2022 I travelled to Germany for the opening of my exhibition Suburbia in the East Gallery at the Kunsthalle in Darmstadt where, before an audience, I was interviewed for the gallery's live-streamed YouTube channel. The event had been billed as a three-cornered conversation between the exhibition's curator Ralph Goertz, myself and Robert Darch whose work is showing in the West Gallery. However, COVID struck and I found myself the last man standing. Gallery director León Krempel took over as interviewer. The recording is now available, r/t: 50 min, 20 sec.

In the UK when we ask: "Where are you from?" we want to know a lot more than just your place of birth.

This story is about the England I come from.

Digital Story. 1991. I Photograph to Remember. First published as an interactive CD-ROM, this intensely moving story about Meyer's parents in old age is now available for iPod download from his ZoneZero website. I first saw it at Impressions Gallery, York, in the summer of 1994. Aside from its length (35 minutes) it is, in every other respect, a "Digital Story", just like the Capture Wales stories we started making in 2001.
